There is a Buddhist ritual where a monk observes asceticism to the point of death and self-mummification. This series is an adaptation of that ritual. A young woman makes peace with the physical world, cleansing her body and chakra, and finally takes her own life in order to hasten the journey to the next plane of existence. As this life fades away, does she indeed begin her journey to enlightenment. Or, does she discover in that last moment of this life, that it was all there was and that death is only a journey to oblivion.
She begins to quiet her mind with deep meditation
Cleansing her body and chakra
She contemplates the dagger and the final act that she is about to perform.
She strokes its blade as she would the body of a lover. And as her lover, she prepares to take the blade into her heart.
With joy and anticipation she picks up the dagger and plunges it into herself.
The ritual is complete. With one last smile she begins her journey to enlightenment.
---- As An Alternate Ending, Consider What Would Happen if She was Wrong ---
As her last moment of life begins to fade, she realizes in horror that this existence is all there was. Darkness and cold rush in to rob her of her mind. She begins to enter that last dreamless sleep.
Her journey is complete. But not into enlightenment, but into oblivion
